Current Chair/Board Champion: W. Clay Jackson, MD, DipTh

Number of Members: 14

Goals of SIG in 2017:

  • Promote best practices, foster new research, and provide a support community to explore the meaning of caring when cure is not expected
  • Generate high-quality review articles for The Pain Practitioner and the planned Journal of Integrative Pain Management, to help educate colleagues about palliative care

Focus of Meeting:

  • Management of symptoms in cancer survivors, who are a different kind of chronic pain patient.
  • These patients don’t fit squarely in the hospice bucket or the non-cancer chronic pain bucket.
